Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa! Eid Mubarak!

This a fan art piece I made of Storm from the XMen. It’s still under some progress, but it’s almost done. It’s also a bummer because I just read an article about SOPA and how Disney and Marvel are supporting it. So, if SOPA gets through, this post of Storm would become illegal as well as many other work on sites (such as Deviant Art) would be less colorful because of the crack down on fan art being copyright infringement.

I really hope it does not pass, but if it does it actually will make artist more creative; It will definitely spark some better ideas in artist and they will take control and ownership of their own characters, comics, games, etc.

This SOPA bill would stop piracy and copyright infringement, but it won’t stop artists going the way that Todd McFarland and Image Comics went back in the early ’90s when their creator owned business blew Marvel and DC out of the water. (I may be wrong about the official financial impact, but I do remember when Image Comics were VERY popular because of the A List artist branching out to make their own series.)

Over the weekend, I will be researching more about this SOPA and PIPA issues and become more original and creative in the meantime.
